Meet Taylor Cutrone, the new Honors College Advisor for Seidenberg, Dyson, and School of Education. She’s a two-time Pace graduate; she got her BA in Applied Psychology and Human Relations in 2017 and her MS in Clinical Mental Health Counseling in 2019. From there, she went on to work as a therapist in the Bronx before coming to work at Pace. She was drawn to the Honors College because it was a smaller community that allows advisors to give more attention to their students, as opposed to larger schools where advisors have to spread themselves between hundreds of students. She thought it would be a good fit. Now, she looks forward to getting to know everyone, meeting all her students, and becoming more immersed in this community.
Taylor loves cooking and baking and has been known to provide the cookies for Cookies and Conversation on occasion. She is a self-proclaimed nerd, with interests in gaming and the fantasy genre.
As a practicing therapist, Taylor wants her students to know that she is there for them beyond their academics. If they ever need a quiet place to land or a safe space to talk, her door is open.
“You are more than just your grades,” Taylor says. “School is important, but the most important thing should be your own health and wellbeing, whether that be physical or mental health. Put yourself first. It’s okay to take a step back, take a breather, and be selfish sometimes.”
Taylor appreciates the wide range of classes that Pace offers and the fact that students have the opportunity to explore classes outside their major. She likes that the “smaller school” environment gives people the chance to build connections and get to know each other.
